Sensor technology for traffic measurement.
The city of Kempten (Allgäu) is issuing a procurement notice for the acquisition and installation of sensor technology for measuring traffic as part of the project “Model Projects Smart City Kempten (MPSCKE)” and the subsequent representation of the data via an application. The goal is to collect real-time traffic data, which serves as a significant basis for urban planning, traffic control, and information for the city community. Precise traffic parameters such as the number of vehicles, vehicle types, turning ratios, speeds, etc., shall be captured at several measurement points within the city. To fully exploit the potential of the collected traffic data, the establishment of an Urban Data Platform (UDP) is also planned to enable better data availability and usage. The respective service contract will commence upon award and encompasses 5 years of operation.
