The aim of the competition is the research and development of forensic methods for auditing artificial intelligence in order to proactively empower the German state and its organs with legal certainty and procedures for the field of AI, which intervenes in all walks of life. The goals are thus scientific and technological progress to address problems in the judicial prosecution of crimes in the field of AI manipulation. In particular, these goals are intended to contribute to Germany's digital forensic readiness.

Research and Development of Forensic Methods for Auditing Artificial Intelligence "Forensics of Intelligent Systems" (FIS).
The main goal of the procurement is to have the prototypical methodologies and tools documented in a final report at the end of the project period, which enable a court-proof detection of various manipulation methods on continuously learning AI systems. Thematically, the project is divided into the following research areas, which have to be considered depending on the law: 1) Intelligent image and video processing, 2) Intelligent text and audio processing, 3) Intelligent autonomous systems. The provision of services is divided into four phases. The best and most innovative of the competing solutions will be identified and selected in stages during the procedure on the basis of the criteria set out in the tender documents.
