Today, the City of Hendaye has a sunflower-type indoor municipal swimming pool on its territory, which was built at the end of the 1970s.
However, this ageing equipment no longer meets current standards (accessibility, sound and thermal insulation, hydraulics) and has problems with its infrastructure and functional organisation.
The City of Hendaye, after an opportunity and pre-programming study, finally chose a new construction on the same site as the current facility, after the latter was demolished.
The project focuses on supporting swimming learning in the context of a seaside resort, where the priority is the safety of all audiences in practices related to the ocean:
- 25 m sports pool with 6 lanes,
- Learning and activity pool of 125m2,
In addition, there is a mineral and plant solarium in the heart of the island.
The estimated total cost of the works is set at 7,466,250 excluding tax (for the 18 lots of the site).
