REFERENCE NUMBER: LIT0745
The mission of the Fermentation Suite at the School of Chemistry (the Fermentation Suite) is to allow fermentation and synthetic biology techniques to be used by students and staff within chemistry enabling ground breaking research in using proteins and other biomolecules.
The School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh constitutes one of the leading aggregates of chemical science research capacity in the UK, with over 50 academics and 40 postdoctoral researchers. By consolidating resources and diverse expertise, the School unites cutting-edge instrumentation, scientific proficiency, and comprehensive support services to accelerate chemical innovation and discovery.
Capable of running temperature-controlled fermentations with volumes of at least 5 L.
Integrated data logging of key parameters, including pH, dissolved oxygen and temperature, either internally on the instrument or via connected computer.
Encompass key bioreactor functionalities such as, but not limited to, temperature control, pH control, dissolved oxygen control, antifoam control and speed control of impeller.
The bioreactor should be able to operate aseptically.
