WNA Datteln has been entrusted with the planning of the expansion of the Wesel-Datteln Canal from the Rhine to Marl (BVWP project W 23).
In addition to four separate contracts in areas 2 (environmental planning), 3 (line development), 4 (crossing structures) and 5 (lock sites), cross-sectional tasks are also to be awarded, covering several departments involved. This includes, among other things, subsoil exploration. This puts out to tender the local construction supervision for the exploratory boreholes, including engineering geological support.
The subject of the contract is the local construction supervision for subsoil exploration measures along the canal section of the Wesel-Datteln Canal from the Rhine to WDK-km 40.0 as well as the lock sites Friedrichsfeld, Hünxe and Dorsten including their outer harbours. For parts of the drill samples, additional field and laboratory analyses must be carried out, as well as the dispatch of drill samples taken or bucket and special samples to the BAW in Karlsruhe must be coordinated. For some drilling points, the responsible explosive ordnance disposal service must be involved. Furthermore, the expansion of parts of the boreholes into groundwater monitoring points must be monitored.
A detailed description of the services to be provided, as well as information on the expansion project, can be found in Annex 2 to the draft contract (Anlage_2_LB_WDK_BauUeW_Baugrund.pdf).
