Stadtwerke Solingen GmbH (SW SG) is a group of companies focused on the urban area of Solingen and the surrounding area with its core business areas of supply (distribution and network) and transport. The subject of the contract to be awarded are various IT services for the Group with the objectives of improving service quality and cost-effectiveness, eliminating capacity bottlenecks and know-how limits, minimizing operational risks and implementing necessary technical innovations.
The IT services to be provided by the IT service provider in the future include in particular the following areas:
- local terminal and peripheral services,
- Central User Support and Service Desk,
- Central application services,
- Client software services (eg central software distribution on PC clients)
- Workplace-related backend services,
- Virtual Desktop Services,
- network services,
- provision and operation of the data center and server infrastructure,
- Administrative Services (support license and asset management).
The IT services are to be provided for the locations of the Stadtwerke Solingen group of companies. The transition of IT services previously provided by a subsidiary of SW SG, itec GmbH, to the contractor is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2020 and be completed by 31.12.2020. The subsequent contract period is generally 5.5 years with the option of an extension by another 5 years.
