Greater Manchester Police are seeking to award a framework for the provision auction house services. The Authority intends to award framework status to companies that are capable of providing the required services in compliance with the ITT requirements.
This procurement is divided into two (2) lots:
Lot 1: Auction of Properties (e.g. Bicycles, jewelries, watches, etc.);
Lot 2: Auction of Vehicles.
The initial contract duration shall be for two (2) years with an option to extend for another two (2) years.
It is estimated that the Authority would generate up to 3 500 000 GBP for the entire duration of this contract.
The main objective is for items (also referred to as ‘found property’, ‘property’ other than found’, and police owned assets), to be safely and securely removed from GMP’s stores at various locations in Greater Manchester area and auctioned in a manner that would generate maximum amount of income, as the realised funds are used for charitable purposes e.g. to support local crime prevention initiatives, etc.
Examples of items to be auctioned under this lot are: jewelries, bicycles, watches, etc.
This contract shall be mainly for the auction of seized vehicles and shall be optional for the sale of GMP fleet.
Approximately 650 seized vehicles were auctioned in the last 12 months.
