Selby District Council is seeking a dynamic and ambitious partner to work with the Council to make the very best of a rare opportunity to develop, design, construct and run new leisure related facilities in Selby Town, adjacent to the Council's brand new leisure centre.

The Council has set out its plans to stimulate local economic growth within Selby District through its ‘Programme for Growth' and sees this exciting development opportunity as a key part of this work.

The Programme for Growth aims to achieve growth through 4 inter-related work strands:

- Jobs

- Housing and infrastructure

- Retail

- Leisure

The Council is looking for a partner(s) to identify a mix of activities for the site; to design and construct the associated accommodation; and run the facilities for a period of time in order to make a return on their investment.

We are looking for a long term partner to invest in the site and help deliver a mix of activities and uses that will benefit the future of Selby town and the wider district. We want to see a strong commitment to deliver facilities that will enhance the site and provide viable and sustainable businesses.

The Council's investment contribution is likely to be the land upon which the development will take place and we are interested in proposals that present a suitable risk and reward structure. The Council is not intending to make on-going revenue expenditure available for the development or its future operation; on the contrary, we are looking for a scheme that will bring sustainable revenue income for the Council.
