Component B New library building: This extends as a 2-storey, basement, approx. 60 m long and 12 m wide, lying structure along Freisestrasse. It consists of a fair-faced concrete facade in the base area, a surrounding glass facade on the ground floor and a perforated facade with silver metal panels on the upper floor and will house the GEI book inventory on three levels as an open-access library.
Component C Nursing home: The former nursing home, built in 1975, which is gutted, renovated and converted into an office and administration building. The building is a 4-6 storey, basement masonry structure. The existing, contaminated fiber cement facade, the windows, the dilapidated roof structure and the balconies are being dismantled and the facade renewed as a composite thermal insulation system.
Component B:
