Design and execution of works for widening of the A1 between the Coal House and Metro Centre junctions.

Associated works may include:

Alterations to grade separated junction slip roads;

Site clearance works;

Vehicular road restraint systems;

Drainage and service ducts;

Earthworks;

Earthwork Strengthening;

Retaining structures;

Pavement;

Traffic signs and road markings;

Gantries;

New and modified highway communications;

Modifications to existing structures;

Protection of existing structures;

Landscape and environmental mitigation works;

Public utility service diversions and protection works.

The Highways Agency is procuring these works under NEC/ECC works contract on a Design and Build Contract approach (Main Option C).
