Klinikum Hersfeld-Rotenburg is an association of 8 health facilities under municipal ownership.

As part of a comprehensive strategy for the future, the acute medical care services are now to be concentrated at one location — the Klinikum Bad Hersfeld. For this purpose, extensive structural measures in various stages are required. The medical conception assumes about 40 000 m2 NUF and 650 planbeds. The services advertised here are intended to determine the need for new construction and refurbishment and will be implemented gradually over the next 10 to 15 years. According to a target plan, the construction of a new functional and care wing with ZNA, radiology, 10 OP's, 60 seats ITC/IMC and 160 beds of normal care, as well as a helicopter landing site for approximately EUR 100 million as the 1st BA will take place. The total cost is estimated at EUR 150 million.
