Alvdal municipality has, through a decision made by the municipal council, decided to carry out engineering design of a new primary school located at Sørhusjordet in Alvdal. A room for cultural activities shall be integrated. The engineering design shall take into account educational considerations, functionality, land use, economy, operational advantages and disadvantages as well as traffic safety.

A multi-purpose hall and swimming pool shall also be subject to engineering design. 2 localisation alternatives for the following functions shall be subject to elucidation:

1. Integrated with school and cultural section at Sørhusjordet.

2. Integrated with the existing lower secondary school and swimming pool. For this alternative, a renovated swimming pool versus construction of a new swimming pool is considered. It is assumed that a multi-purpose hall shall be constructed on the site for the existing community centre, situated at Grindegga.
