NHS Forth Valley is seeking to award a contract for clinical applications with a specific focus on order communications/results reporting.
These application(s) will act as feeder systems for a wider work programme to deliver a clinical portal to provide timely, safe and efficient patient clinical assessment, advice, diagnostic results and referral services information. A key benefit we are aiming to achieve is to use these products to drive down operational cost. It is essential that the Service provider collaborates closely with other NHS Forth Valley contractors to ensure that the clinical applications are fully integrated with relevant internal and external systems and operates effectively within the technical infrastructure of the organisation. Service providers may also be expected to provide support for the applications contained within this lot.
Purpose of the order communications reporting contract NHS Forth Valley laboratory services process approximately 1 000 000 requests every year. Radiology services undertake 150 000 referrals every year and cardiology service process 25 000 requests annually. Requests come from both primary and secondary care in roughly equal proportions.
NHS Forth Valley currently has a mixed paper/electronic process for requesting and reporting tests.
The aim of this project would be to move to an online test requesting & reporting system across NHSFV primary & secondary care services and to replace the current paper-based process.
