The tender is the provision of catering services on selected routes of Abellio Rail Mitteldeutschland GmbH between Leipzig – Eisenach and Saalfeld – Halle. The annual route volume is approximately 1 million timetable kilometres (up to 1.47 million timetable kilometres with all options).

The contractor shall provide the personnel, food and beverages (hereinafter also referred to as "goods"), as well as operating resources required for the catering service on the corresponding routes.

The food and drinks are sold on own account.

The Contractor shall, at its own expense and risk, place goods on Abellio's trains for sale to passengers in accordance with this invitation to tender.

Catering shall be provided by the Contractor's staff on Abellio's trains. The goods are to be offered to passengers directly at the seat.

The contractor shall keep a selection of goods ready for the offer on the train. The offer must include at least cold and hot drinks as well as small snacks.

At the beginning of the contract period, the caterer ensures the availability of a small range of goods, which can be further developed and enlarged during the contract period. An expansion of the product range beyond beverages and food requires the prior written consent of Abellio.

There are 1,000,000 timetable kilometers per year on the defined lines of the STS network to be occupied with catering services. Optionally, an extension of up to 470,000 timetable kilometers per year can be made.
