The Self-Reliance Route (Z-route) is one of the learning routes in the context of the Integration Act 2021, the aim of the Z-route is for citizens to achieve the highest possible degree of independence. The Z-route has the ultimate goal for citizens to increase their perspective on the labour market by participating as quickly as possible and according to their ability, preferably through (paid) work. In addition, Inburgeraars gain sufficient knowledge of Dutch society in the Z-route to be able to participate fully.
