Industrieschap Medel is a joint scheme created by the municipalities of Tiel and Neder Betuwe with the aim of developing the Medel Business Park.

Reason and purpose of the tender

For the Medel 1 and Medel Afronding plan areas, which together cover the Medel Business Park, environmental studies (water), soil and road surface are required for the development of the business park.

The contracting authority intends to enter into a framework agreement for these environmental studies with one contractor.

Medel 1

The research area of Medel 1 concerns already completed plots that are ready for construction, free of environmental and civil engineering obstacles, suitable for sale to customers. However, the environmental-technical research that has taken place here is> five years. The competent authority requires that these lots should be re-examined. It concerns a total surface of 7.1 ha. In addition, these plots have not been examined for PFAS values under current regulations.

Medel Completion

The developments at Medel Afronding will continue until mid-2026. In the period 2017 - present, large-scale environmental hygienic soil and sediment research has already been carried out. To date, 38.5 ha of the property area of Industrieschap Medel has been commissioned and executed. The total surface that still needs to be investigated is approximately 24 ha. The research area has not been investigated for PFAS values under current regulations. The Industrieschap Medel wants to draw up a local soil quality map PFAS Medel Afronding.
