The project includes the schools Kirkebygden primary school and Våler secondary school, which are located in the same area in Våler municipality in Viken.
The schools are dimensioned for a total of 710 students, with 350 students at the primary school and 360 students at the secondary school.
The project is being planned by the builder, with startup in summer 2023 and completion in 2025. As part of the contest, tenderers must present a progress plan for the project with associated milestones.
Framework approval for the project is provided in accordance with TEK17.
School operations will take place at the primary school during construction. The safety of the school students will therefore be particularly highlighted, and this is indicated in the tender documentation.
The measure includes:
- Expansion of Kirkebygden primary school with an extension of the administration wing, a new volleyball hall and two new wings for learning areas that are connected to the existing school.
- New Våler secondary school with associated local community facilities with a multi-purpose library in the heart of the school, and a new swimming pool that is adapted for holding competitions. The secondary school will be built off of the existing Våler Hall, and also includes a new changing room facility at Våler Hall. This is a consequence of Våler secondary school being totally destroyed in a fire in the spring of 2021.
- Joint infrastructure will be established in the area with a new joint well park located in the current car park, and a joint energy centre for both schools. The joint energy centre is integrated into the secondary school and therefore needs to be completed in due time before the primary school is completed.
- The water and sewage infrastructure that runs through the site will be upgraded to become part of the municipal water main, including a temporary solution to meet the requirements for fire water coverage.
- Construction of play and outdoor areas for both schools.
- Upgrading of access, car park and the new Kiss and Ride solution.
