On campus Münchberg (College Hof) a pilot plant building will be built. This will be a new experimental line z. Manufacture of hydroentangled as well as thermally bonded nonwovens installed. The production of nonwovens, preferably hygiene nonwovens, starting from the fiber to the finished nonwoven fabric, should ultimately take place in a continuous process step. The production should be possible without interruption, z. B. without stopping during the reel change.
The pilot plant will consist of the following individual components:
- fiber preparation consisting of two bale openers, opener and mixing units,
- fiber transport lines from fiber preparation to carding,
- mechanical web formation by means of carding,
Unwinding devices at the top and bottom (as part of the hydroentanglement plant),
Mechanical nonwoven consolidation by hydroentanglement plant,
- dryer, suitable for drying process u. thermal hardening,
- goods winder.

Due to the possibility of performing experiments u. Production of small sample series can be nonwoven plant successful in addition to teaching successful in the research services sector, as well as for practical part sci. Works used w. Due to a large number of variably adjustable parameters, it should also be used for acquisition u. Processing third-party funded projects used w.
The nonwoven plant should be able to produce nonwovens with the following parameters:
- Processing of synthetic fibers of synthetic (synthetic fibers) and natural (regenerated fibers) polymers, such as polyester, polyamide; Polypropylene, polyethylene, viscose, modal, lyocell, polyactides, also as bicomponent fibers, etc.),
Staple length of the fibers: 20-75 mm,
- fiber fineness: 0.8 dtex to 9.0 dtex (design card stock: preferably for 0.9 - 4.4 dtex),
- In exceptional cases, good quality cotton ("Mako quality") (staple length according to Uster AFIS greater than or equal to 18 mm, SFC smaller equal to 40%) in admixture of up to 15% by weight,
- Weight of the nonwoven fabric to be produced: 15 - 80 g / m
- Material throughput (on fiber preparation): up to 400 kg / h,
- Production speed (mechanical): up to 100 m / min,
- Usable product width (on the goods roll) after edge cut: 850 mm,
- Transferability of process parameters to production facilities (scale-up).
Achieving the maximum parameters is not mandatory for all settings.
The offer must include all individual machines which are necessary for the operation of the entire system and for the production of the guarantee products, as well as the planning and complete installation including all necessary additional work ("turnkey").
