The Zweckverband Water and Wastewater Treatment Rügen (CHAT) operates the Göhren wastewater treatment plant in Göhren on Rügen, which has an approved expansion size of 30,000 EW. With the steadily rising tourism on the island of Rügen, the inlet load has increased significantly since the last expansion of the wastewater treatment plant. The Göhren wastewater treatment plant has reached its capacity limit and needs to be expanded.
The expansion of the wastewater treatment plant is divided into 3 sections:
a) replacement of blower station/conversion of aeration tanks 1 and 2
b) 1st construction phase - new aeration tank 3
c) 2nd construction phase - renewal of clarification/renewal of machine pre-cleaning
