For the existing flood protection systems, the complete proof of load-bearing capacity, usability and erosion safety must be drawn up.

The existing flood protection systems in the area of Heringen (sh. Site plan) are divided into positions as follows in groups according to location and are to be examined individually.

In each case, proof of falling below the limit state of load-bearing capacity, operational safety and erosion safety in accordance with No. 11 of DIN 19712:2013 must be provided.

Proof of slope stability must be provided in accordance with DWA-M 507-1/ DIN 1084. In particular, the following shall be taken into account and demonstrated:

- Global and local stability of the dike

- Local stability at the foot of the embankment

- Stability of embankment seals at water pressure from the dike body

- Buoyancy safety and safety against hydraulic ground fracture

- Proof of safety against material transport

- Proof of safety against overcurrents

- Proof of safety against rooting adhesion

Load cases are on the one hand the stationary and the flowing water pressure (full of board) and on the other hand the maintenance (Maad) and dike defense as a traffic load.

In this context, soil samples and analyses must be taken and analyses carried out on the 8 cervical spine sections to be evaluated after prior explosive ordnance clearance. These are drilling profiles for soil response as well as laboratory analyses for soil chemical and soil mechanical analysis. The results serve as the basis for the following stability proofs.
