General description for all trades
The German Pension Insurance Baden-Württemberg plans to fundamentally renovate the extension of the Karlsruhe headquarters, which was built in 1977.
The building is designed as a fully air-conditioned open-plan office building with two basement levels, three full floors (EC 2nd floor) and a saddle floor. The building has a GFA of approx. 18,370 m² and a BRI of approx. 72,240 m².
The extension is designed as a reinforced concrete skeleton construction and has an aluminium glass façade in front, all-round escape balconies with an aluminium steel structure in front and two massive reinforced concrete escape stairwells on the east and west sides. Floors in the open-plan area are designed as coffered concrete ceilings in the core area as solid concrete ceilings.
The 3rd floor, which was built in 1995, consists of a lightweight, set-back steel construction with aluminum-glass cladding, the interior walls are mostly made of plasterboard support walls. As part of the measure, it is planned to dismantle the 3rd floor.
