The town hall of the city of Essen from 1979 must be upgraded in terms of fire protection.

In the course of the upcoming renovation, all suspended ceilings will be renewed or refurbished and work on the technical equipment and modernization measures will be carried out. In the course of these measures, a preliminary pollutant remediation is required.

After a sample floor (4th floor, block 1) of the office tower of the city hall in Essen has been renovated (completed at the end of 2019), the 2nd block (floor 1-3) has been renovated from 2019 until today. In the coming years until 2027, the remaining 17 floors of this office tower will be rehabilitated during ongoing operation. Each, usually 3 floors are rehabilitated at the same time and with little time shift between each other.
