The municipality of Vijfheerenlanden intends to start the renovation and expansion of the Vijfheerenlanden town hall through a traditional process. In concrete terms, this means that the design for the town hall up to and including specifications and drawings (technical design) is worked out by the designing and advising parties to be selected. On the basis of these productions, the executing party(s) are then put out to tender.

A task list showing the various disciplines and their respective tasks in the various phases is attached to the registration guide.

An important intermediate step in the process will be applying for the final implementation credit for the project. This application takes place on the basis of calculation of the final design (DO).

The Municipality of Vijfheerenlanden was created in 2019 from a merger between the former municipalities of Leerdam, Vianen and Zederik. At the moment, the municipal organization and the board are housed in three town halls at the Leerdam, Meerkerk and Vianen locations. The municipality of Vijfheerenlanden has the ambition to house the organization and the board in one building.

It is a large-scale life-extending renovation in which the existing town hall in Leerdam is made suitable for the entire municipal organization and administration. The library, currently housed in the existing Leerdam town hall, will also be housed in the Vijfheerenlanden town hall. In order to be able to realize the program, it is intended to expand at the head of the building.

The renovated town hall has a size of approximately 6,400 m2 GFA of which approximately 4,700 m2 GFA concerns the existing building and the future expansion will cover approximately 1,700 m2 GFA.
