In continuation of the implementation of the flood protection concept, the LHW intends to rehabilitate the aforementioned dike section on the existing route in accordance with standards. It is a restoration of the proper condition of a dike on the existing route, with the addition of a landside berm and the construction of the freeboard on the top of the dike. The section of the right Elbe dike to be built is located near the village of Schönhausen (Elbe) in the district of Stendal. The dike to be rehabilitated has a total length of approx. 750 m. The expansion of the section includes the following aspects:
- Raising the dike crown path to dike target height (i. M. 30 cm)
- Construction of a landside berm with DVW (OK roadway approx. 1.50 m below BHW)
- Establishing/maintaining the standard slope inclination of 1:3
- Adaptation of the water-side dike shoulder to the water-side existing embankment
- Landside widening of the dike contact area by 5 to 6 m
- Creation of a care berm with slope foot protection (sheet pile wall) in the area of the pig pit
- Adaptation of the dike ramps/crossing to the dike target height
