With the purchase of the former municipal school building by the city in 2016, the opportunity arises to develop the site of the listed former cloister wing of the Franciscan monastery from the 13th century and the school building from the 19th century into a place for culture and education. The building, which was used from 1995 to 2016 as the administration building of the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse (AOK), takes over the infrastructure necessary for the exam wing. As a result, the intervention in the listed substance can be minimized. It also enables barrier-free access to the upper floor of the cloister wing, also connected to the old school. The new connecting building between the new library and the old cloister building traces the course of the former apse.
As a replacement for the demolished part of the building from the 1980s, a new extension in conventional masonry with concrete ceilings will be built in the same width, but adapted to the length of the former schoolhouse.
In the project Kloster Gransee (place for culture and education), services for the trade of sanitary and heating technology and ventilation and air-conditioning systems are to be carried out in 2 components (BT1: cloistered building, BT2: library).
In component 1 (ground floor, 1st floor) (small installation scope) only 8 infrared heating plates are installed.
In component 2 (KG, EG, OG, DG) (large installation scope), all existing installations will be replaced. For this purpose, underfloor heating will be installed on the ground floor and on the upper floor. In the remaining rooms and in the basement, radiators are installed. The heat supply is provided by a thermal bath. Sanitary facilities will be installed in the basement. These are mechanically ventilated and vented. For this purpose, an air conditioning unit will be installed on the roof of the new building. Furthermore, a computer room is to be cooled on the upper floor, and a split cooling unit is installed for this purpose. The outdoor unit is installed in the area of the HVAC unit.
In advance, the existing installations are dismantled by third parties.
