Bau- und Gartenbetrieb Lahr has its headquarters at Gutleutstraße 23 in Lahr (parcel no. 4290). There are several halls, workshops and social rooms on the premises.
The individual vehicle and equipment halls were built in the 1960s and no longer meet the current standard and requirements. Since then, the range of services offered by the BGL has grown enormously and so has the vehicle fleet. The storage spaces of the vehicles are no longer sufficient and further, well-suited office space is needed.
The existing storage rooms and garages are mostly in poor structural condition.
The personnel area with small equipment workshop and warehouse, which was built in 2001, on the other hand, still works very well today. However, renovation work, such as the renewal of the paint, was to be carried out on this building in the course of the conversion.
In 2019, a concept study was developed.
New, weather-protected parking areas for the vehicles are to be created at the depot.
The concept envisages the construction of two new buildings on the depot, a cold hall in the middle of the courtyard and an office and workshop building along Gutleutstraße.
As a result, it was proposed to demolish the property Gutleutstr.25/27 as well as the small-scale garage buildings in the center of the BGL property.
A conversion in two construction phases is planned. In the first construction phase, the office and
Workshop building created, followed by the new cold hall in the second.
A new office building is to be built in which not only space for more office space will be created, but also a new car workshop and a "warm" garage for large vehicles.
Due to the almost complete sealing of the area, the flat roofs are to be greened and used for renewable energy generation.
Office and workshop buildings:
The existing building is to be demolished. The new building is to be planned as a roadside building in the sense of a good urban development. In its form, this should clearly form a uniform presence with the already existing personnel and workshop building.
The new building is to move away from the street in order to be able to offer new parking facilities without crossing with the company traffic.
On the ground floor, warm hall, workshop and storage areas are to be arranged.
The vertical development of the offices is to be arranged at the pivotal point of the building yard. The offices are to be arranged on one level on the upper floor with an optimal overview of the courtyard. Flat roof surfaces shall be provided for rainwater retention and greening.
Kalthalle:
The new vehicle hall is to be connected to the existing warehouse buildings.
The new passage solution is intended to ensure safe and easier traffic management and by creating many large parking spaces in the dry, the daily docking and hanging of the trailers is no longer necessary.
The safe storage of vehicles directed for the following day is guaranteed.
Attention must be paid to optimal ventilation and plenty of daylight in the cold hall. The roof pitch of these roofs shall be provided for PV installation. The green flat roof areas are intended to ensure rainwater retention and a good climate.
The aim of these procedures is to award the necessary object planning buildings and interiors / conversions and modernizations of buildings and interiors (§§ 34-36 HOAI) LP 2-9 in stages, initially LP 2-4.
