Mintarder Weg 43 - “formerly Schule an der Ruhr “- Dismantling and clearing of the construction site.

At the primary school location Mintarderweg 43, Schule an der Ruhr (2-speed primary school) in Essen-Kettwig, pollutants were found that no longer allow the school to be used. Operation of the site was discontinued in early 2017. The city of Essen is therefore planning to demolish the existing buildings (school and OGS buildings), vacate the construction area and build a new two-class primary school.

This award procedure includes the demolition and dismantling work, the clearing of the construction site. The dismantling work includes the remediation of harmful substances and their disposal.

Extent of the work:

The approx. 6 550 m 2 large school grounds include around 1 200 m 2 large school building erected in 1929 in the Bauhaus style, one about 1,000 m 2 large sports facility covered with tartan and surrounded by ball fences as well as the approx. 240 m 2 Building of the open all-day school (OGS) built in 2008. The surrounding open spaces also include the schoolyard and a playground and, apart from smaller areas where trees have been planted, are paved. The terrain height is approx. 43-44 m above sea level. NHN as far as possible. The examined property is not recorded in the cadastre of suspected contaminated sites in the city of Essen.

The structural measures advertised here include the complete dismantling of the existing buildings (elementary school + OGS) including foundations and pipe trenches. It is also planned to dismantle the sealed surfaces and fencing elements. The waste generated must be disposed of and the area prepared for further processing.

The following structural and technical systems are to be dismantled:

- OGS pavilion;

- Container (next to OGS pavilion);

- pipe trench;

- School (partly 3-storey building with partial basement);

- garage / carport;

- sealed surfaces:

—— approx. 1 585 m 2 Asphalt, partly made of tar;

—— approx. 300 m 2 Composite stone paving;

—— approx. 410 m 2 Concrete;

- approx. 1,180 m 2 Green spaces to be paved;

- Inventory:

Fences, benches, rubbish bins, curbs, lawn edging stones

The dismantling is scheduled to begin in early 2021. A construction time of 22 weeks from the order placement is to be assumed.
