The new steam and heating water system is to be built on the site of the cogeneration plant (HKW) of Stadtwerke Neumünster (SWN). As far as possible, the new plant must be integrated into the existing stock while the existing boiler plants are in operation. Its main purpose is the generation of reserve energy for the supply of the steam and heating water network as well as the loss of basic production. The construction of the entire plant is staggered over time, in two construction stages. In the first construction phase, the construction of two steam generators is planned in 2021. The capacity should be approx. 25 t / h each. In the second construction phase, the construction of two heating water heaters is planned in 2022. The output size should be approx. 35 MWth each.
