Consideration of the award of services: State Building Office Nuremberg, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, place of execution: Erlangen, structural design according to HOAI part 4, section 1 for the construction project: new building of technical chemistry.
The Free State of Bavaria, represented by the State Building Authority of Erlangen-Nuremberg, intends to erect the new Technical Chemistry building on the grounds of the Faculty of Engineering at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg.
Technical chemistry consists of 3 chairs. The chairs are: "Chemical Reaction Technology" (CRT), "Thermal Process Engineering" (TVT) and the unit "Erlangen Catalysis Resource Center (ECRC).
The CRT develops novel catalyst systems and processes for carrying out technically relevant chemical reactions in a highly selective manner. This research makes a significant contribution to improving the future production of chemicals from an economic and ecological perspective.
At the TVT, separation processes are designed, modeled and piloted based on thermodynamics. The fields of work are thermodynamics, separation technology, additives, energy and high pressure technology.
The ECRC deals with all facets of catalysis research from catalyst production and characterization to testing in practice-relevant reactions. This interdisciplinary research approach enables the development and improvement of sustainable chemical processes through the use of optimized catalysts.
The existing building at Egerlandstrasse 3 from 1972, in which the chairs of technical chemistry are currently housed, is in urgent need of renovation. A general refurbishment is not economical from a spatial and technical point of view and cannot be carried out during operation. In order to maintain the working ability of the chairs of technical chemistry, a new building must be built.
Room program:
The room program includes 5 022 m
The usable areas are mainly divided into the following main groups:
Laboratory space (53%) with 2 969 m
Location:
The location of the planned new building is on the site of the technical faculty of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. The spatial proximity to the Helmholtz Institute is decisive for the location decision, since both institutes conduct research in the same areas. On the chosen construction site (6 895 m
The decommissioned boiler house is located on the neighboring building 116.01, which will also be demolished as part of the construction work (not part of this award procedure). The vacant areas are intended as construction site furnishings.
Building law:
The southern area is shown in the land use plan of the city of Erlangen as a special area for university use. There is no legally binding development plan for the site. There are therefore no special building restrictions. The area shown in the FNP as a special area for university use can be planned according to §34 BauGB.
Arm:
The construction site is accessed via the adjacent Immerwahrstrasse. A bypass of the building is planned. It is not necessary to enlarge the municipal supply and disposal facilities and other public facilities.
The building plot is connected to the existing supply and disposal networks in the southern area of the FAU for district heating, district cooling, natural gas, water, sewage, as well as electrical, EDP and telephone. The electrical, EDP and telephone connections to the existing network are made via the inner medium voltage ring of the FAU, the regional computer center and the telephone exchange Egerlandstrasse.
