The aim of the study is to understand the scope and potential in the short to medium term to address the macro-objectives for life cycle resource efficiency at a building project level, taking into account different building uses, forms, as well as possible geographical and cultural variations. This will be based on the selection and detailed analysis of the findings from field studies of environmental improvements implemented in buildings. Based on this analysis, the main objectives will be threefold:
1. to identify the project processes, technical data and evaluation tools that were used to translate specific macro-objectives into meaningful and practical performance improvements at building project level;
2. to identify for specific performance improvements the options available at building project level for indicators;
3. to identify lessons that can be learned about how specific macro-objectives were translated successfully (or unsuccessfully) into performance improvements at a project level.
