The new Corporate Support Services Building (CSSB) is a circa 5000 sqm four storey building which is being constructed on the northern end of the IT Carlow campus towards the eastern boundary to provide storage and office space for various departments including HR, development, finance, international, academic staff, admin, estates and insurtech.
The new building will include a vertical central atrium throughout, sub station and new east road.
The facility is a stone and glazing clad structural steel structure. External works include a new Plaza area to the west side which ties in with the campus masterplan, storage units and works to eastern link road. Services connections for the facility will be adjacent.
Specialist panels will be formed and included in the main contract tender documents for the following elements of the works:
— curtain walling/glazing,
— mechanical services,
— Electrical Services.

The main contractor may proposed alternatives at tender stage using SAQ form QW3 — alternatives are subject to approval by the contracting authority.
