The B1 route is one of learning routes in the context of the Integration Act 2021. The aim of the B1 route is for citizens to achieve the highest possible language level as quickly as possible, but at most within three years, and increase their perspective on the labour market. It is important that language learning is combined with guidance to volunteer work or preferred, fully paid work. In addition, citizens in the B1 route gain sufficient knowledge of Dutch society to participate fully in society and finally work towards the highest possible degree of independence.
