The plan is to build a fire and rescue station with sheds for emergency vehicles of the Hamburg professional fire brigade. The building has storage, technical and recreation rooms on up to 3 floors in connection with single-storey vehicle halls as well as two washing halls. The building does not have a basement and will be constructed mainly in reinforced concrete, the vehicle hall with a steel roof construction with fire protection coating. The vertical access is via 3 stairwells and various slide shafts. On the 2nd floor, sports rooms and a gastro kitchen are also planned.
The building comprises around 5,600 m² GFA with dimensions of up to 95 x 40 m on a plot area of around 14,000 m². The building does not have a basement.
Furthermore, a 22 m high training tower will be built.
The construction site is located in HH-Finkenwerder on Aluminiumstraße between a petrol station to the north and the aluminium plants to the south, whose conveyor bridge spans the property to the east. Access to Aluminiumstraße is via Finkenwerder Straße.
The flat roofs will be extensively greened and prepared for the installation of photovoltaics, while the facing stone facades will receive large-scale climbing greenery. The building will receive various ventilation systems; Heating is provided by underfloor or industrial underfloor heating with heat pumps as well as deep geothermal boreholes.
In addition to driving areas for emergency vehicles, a 22m high training tower, a sports field and car parking spaces are planned on the site. Rainwater and dirty water are disposed of via infiltration on the property, sometimes with the upstream connection of a coalescence separator or grease separator.
