The objectives of the study will be:

a) to identify requirements for European research on smart spaces and environments in the scope of Horizon 2020, connected objects and automated machine-to-machine communication systems;

b) to outline options for an European investment policy for entrepreneurship in the Internet of things leading to the next generation of high-added-value integrated digital ecosystems;

c) to identify how IoT provides additional opportunities for cloud computing;

d) to analyse investment and policy support for IoT in relevant regions of the world (Brazil, China, India), with a view to create high-value partnerships.
