British Transport Police is looking to procure padded structures, floor mats and ancillary items to facilitate a new methodology for teaching Police Personal Safety Training (PPST) based on scenario-based training.
There will be no form of exclusivity or volume that is guaranteed under the resultant Contract.
BTP are adopting a new methodology for teaching Police Personal Safety Training (PPST) which has been mandated by the College of Policing (CoP) and National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC).
The revised curriculum relies heavily on scenario-based training (SBT). The SBT requires the use of new padded structures/pods to enhance the learning experience of Officers and details that the entire training area is to be matted. As this is a new requirement it is essential that BTP purchases the new equipment to roll out the PPST training.
Each kit will consist of:
- 1 x custody cell
- 1 x back of van
- 1 x end of train carriage and approximately 84 mats measuring 2m x 1m (larger venues, such as in London, BTP will require a further 28 mats, total of 112)
Each kit will also include ancillary items such as props for searching including imitation weapons etc.
