See II.2.4
The assignment concerns the conclusion of a framework agreement with 1 participant and includes the transport, washing and checking of potentially radioactively contaminated laundry. Transportation includes weekly collection of the dirty laundry and return of the cleaned laundry.
The laundry includes cotton overalls, lab coats and hoods, T-shirts, trousers, overshoes, etc. worn by the staff in the controlled area. These clothing is usually worn under protective intervention suits and can be contaminated with alpha, beta and gamma emitters during work in the controlled area.
After the washing process, the treated laundry is dried and checked for the presence of any radioactive residual contamination. The permitted residual contamination after washing may not exceed the following contamination values: in alpha < 0.04 Bq/cm²; in beta range < 0.4 Bq/cm². the way in which the radioactive residual contamination is measured must be approved by our DFC service (as well as the equipment).
After the washing process, the laundry must be sorted (per site, per location, per type) and packaged and delivered to the site. In this way, this can be distributed correctly.
