South West London CCGs is a collaboration of 6 CCGs, consisting of approximately 192 GP practices and 1 600 000 patients. The CCGs have jointly agreed to commission a pilot for GPFV online consultations. The ambition for the pilot is to commission a single platform which offers access for patients GP online consultations including appointment booking.
This procurement is being carried out by the National Commercial and Procurement Hub (NHS England) on behalf of the commissioners.
NHS England is using technology to empower patients and make it easier for clinicians to deliver high quality care and enabling patients to seamlessly navigate the service as part of its digital transformation strategy. The online consultation programme is a contribution towards this ambition.
As part of the NHS general practice forward view, a 45 000 000 GBP fund has been created to contribute towards the costs for practices to purchase online consultation systems, improving access and making best use of clinicians' time.
The South West London (SWL) CCGs have jointly agreed to commission a pilot for GPFV Online Consultations. SWL is a collaboration of 6 CCGs, consisting of approximately 192 GP practices and 1 600 000 patients. SWL CCGs include Merton CCG, Croydon CCG, Kingston CCG, Richmond CCG, Sutton CCG and Wandsworth CCG as the lead. The ambition for the pilot is to commission a single platform which offers access for patients GP online consultations including appointment booking. The pilot will run for a minimum of 7 months from mobilisation.

The contract dates are from September 2018 – April 2019 with the option to extend up to 1 additional year to April 2020. The contract value is 35 000,00 GBP.
