Technical equipment, plant size 7 NSA laboratory technology according to HOAI part 4, section 2
Consideration of the award of services: State Building Office Nuremberg, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, place of execution: Erlangen, technical equipment: laboratory technology (plant group 7 NSA) according to HOAI part 4, section 2 for the measure: new building of technical chemistry.
The Free State of Bavaria, represented by the State Building Authority of Erlangen-Nuremberg, intends to erect the new Technical Chemistry building on the grounds of the Faculty of Engineering at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg.
Technical chemistry consists of 3 chairs. The chairs are: "Chemical Reaction Technology" (CRT), "Thermal Process Engineering" (TVT) and the unit "Erlangen Catalysis Resource Center (ECRC).
The CRT develops novel catalyst systems and processes for carrying out technically relevant chemical reactions in a highly selective manner. This research makes a significant contribution to improving the future production of chemicals from an economic and ecological perspective.
At the TVT, separation processes are designed, modeled and piloted based on thermodynamics. The fields of work are thermodynamics, separation technology, additives, energy and high pressure technology.
The ECRC deals with all facets of catalysis research from catalyst production and characterization to testing in practice-relevant reactions. This interdisciplinary research approach enables the development and improvement of sustainable chemical processes through the use of optimized catalysts.
Room program:
The room program includes 5 022 m 2nd NF 1–6 according to DIN 277 incl. 64 m 2nd Sub-storage area. This results in a total usable area (NF 1 - 7 according to DIN 277) of 5 547 m 2nd with 274 m 2nd Outdoor storage area, plus 20 m 2nd Nitrogen tank area.
The usable areas are mainly divided into the following main groups:
Laboratory space (53%) with 2 969 m 2nd of which are 238 m 2nd Practical laboratories, office space (30%) with 1 645 m 2nd and other usable space (17%) with 933 m 2nd . The laboratories are reaction technology and synthesis laboratories, as well as physical, chemical, high pressure, clean room and special laboratories, some of which have special, structural and technical requirements.
Location:
The location of the planned new building is on the premises of the technical faculty of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
The laboratory area is 2,696 m 2nd , including 238 m 2nd Internship laboratories. The laboratories are reaction technology and synthesis laboratories, as well as physical, chemical, high pressure, clean room (ISO 7) and special laboratories. The laboratories have a high level of basic laboratory equipment, an extensive media supply, 34 fume cupboards (partially accessible) and 25 safety cabinets. This requires a lot of effort for the technical building equipment. Separate HVAC systems with increased requirements are required for the high-pressure laboratory, the clean room, the explosion-proof laboratories (explosion-proof exhaust air system for point extraction and laboratory fume cupboards), the welding place extraction system and the hazardous materials warehouse. The high number of fume cupboards results in high, necessary room air changes that go far beyond the minimum requirements according to the laboratory directive. In laboratory equipment, due to the use of acids, porcelain stoneware is required as the worktop surface. A central gas network is planned for the supply of synthetic air, hydrogen, argon, helium and nitrogen. Starting from a location that is spatially separate from the main building (gas storage facility active), the gases are conducted in a widely branched network within the building. Individual laboratories are equipped with gas warning systems (20 pieces).
