RTÉ is planning to fully replace the systems and equipment currently used to provide subtitles and audio description. We expect that replacing this infrastructure will provide fully redundant subtitle and audio description creation, scheduling and insertion capability for all channels. We also expect that the new systems should utilise new technologies, improve functionality, and ideally simplify and consolidate the infrastructure. We are aiming to create better customer experiences across all platforms and easier and faster workflows for the RTÉ subtitles and AD creation teams.

Supply of subtitling preparation software.

Supply of Audio Description (AD) preparation software, and the supply of an audio description pre-mix and transcode solution for embedded audio description and associated configuration and integration with RTÉ Systems.

Supply of a schedule management system for subtitles and audio description.

Supply of a transmission subtitling playout and insertion solution for live, pre-prepared and embedded subtitles, and associated installation, testing and monitoring.
