Survey "Security and Crime in Germany 2024"
At its 207th meeting on 7/8.12.2017, the Standing Conference of Interior Ministers and Senators of the Federation and the Länder (IMK) spoke out in favour of the realisation of a regular, nationwide victimisation survey and asked the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) as the central office to implement this survey on the basis of a concept developed by a federal-state project group (BLPG). After the first wave of this representative survey "Security and Crime in Germany" (SKiD) was realized in 2020, the second survey wave is to be carried out at the beginning of 2024. SKiD is designed as a combination of written-postal and online surveys, whereby respondents are offered simultaneous choice of both survey modes. The questionnaire comprises a core programme, which in some federal states is supplemented by blocks (modules) with state-specific questions. The sample consists of a nationwide basic sample of 30,000 target persons (gross), an onomastic additional sample from the population with a Turkish migration background (10,000 target persons gross) as well as additional samples with a total of 126,000 persons to be contacted (gross) in some federal states (so-called increases).
