For the construction of a new high-performance data center, consisting of 2 buildings, computer building and office building, which are connected by a bridge on the upper floor, an infrastructural and supply connection to the public routes in the area of Nikolaus-Fiebiger-Straße, which are currently still being planned, is necessary. The planning services for the public routes in the area of Nikolaus-Fiebiger-Straße are not part of the scope of this tender.
The tendered project planning services IBW and VA in the construction site area NHR essentially comprise:
- IBW 1: Redesign of property drainage system with infiltration system + rainwater harvesting
- IBW 2: Redesign of connection pipes for heat incl. empty pipe network
- IBW 3: Redesign of connecting pipes for refrigeration
- VA 4: Replanning of traffic areas.
Gesch. Eligible costs IBW, KG 500: EUR 2.0 million net
Gesch. Chargeable costs VA, KG 500: EUR 0.3 million net
Vorl. Project duration: 01/2024 - 09/2030
New construction of a high-performance computing center in northern Bavaria ("NHR") consisting of three partial construction measures. In the 1st construction phase, the construction of a computer building ("RG") and an office building ("BG"), which is not open to the public, is planned, as well as the creation of the necessary access and the expansion of the existing data network. In the long term, the extension of the office building is planned in a 2nd construction phase (not part of this measure).
The RG is used to house the computers and networks for general university operations as well as the high-performance computers (HPC) including the technical infrastructure.
The BG is used to house the personnel and functions that are directly related to the operation of the computers. The office building is to be arranged and planned in such a way that an extension is sensibly possible in a later 2nd construction phase.
Each of the two buildings will be awarded separately to a general planner.
The perimeter of the outdoor facilities covers the entire building plot (RG and BG) and is awarded separately to an outdoor facility planner.
The project management services of the areas of action A and D according to AHO Issue No. 9 are to be outsourced.
The entire flow of data, information and communication takes place via a common data environment (CDE). This will be procured and operated by the client for the duration of the project.
The planning of the engineering structures and traffic facilities described below is carried out without the use of the BIM method.
Engineering structures and transport facilities
The project planner for civil engineering structures and traffic facilities has to plan and implement the following services in the outdoor area. The objects are to be planned in close coordination with the property planners for electrical and building technology / mechanical engineering and brought up to the defined interface (usually 1 meter in front of the building) to the buildings.
The tendered service profiles include the project planning for the following civil engineering structures (LPH 2-8, in parts, in accordance with §43 HOAI) and traffic facilities (LPH 2-8, in parts, in accordance with §47 HOAI) in the construction site area NHR:
- Wastewater: the wastewater generated in the buildings is to be fed into one or more individual strands of the sewer in Nikolaus-Fiebiger-Straße planned as part of a separate development measure,
- Rainwater: the rainwater that accumulates on the property should be fed into an infiltration system on site, if possible. Furthermore, a cistern for rainwater storage is planned. The economic and ecological aspects of rainwater harvesting should be examined in more detail in the course of further planning.
- Plant technology: Connection pipes for cooling, heating and empty pipe systems from the building to the connection point to the west of the sidewalk in Nikolaus-Fiebiger-Straße.
- Traffic facilities: delivery zone including ramp and manoeuvring facility for trucks with trailers. A complete bypass of the data center is planned.
The construction project places high demands on the planners involved. Due to the high scope of measures (cost and schedule), organizational, construction process and team-oriented competencies are required in addition to technical expertise.
