Deutsche Bahn AG operates various sales channels for tickets with a focus on rail passenger transport. The sales channels offer information such as travel and price information, as well as the possibility to book tickets.
The offer portfolio includes tickets for local, regional and long-distance transport within Germany and selected international connections.
In order to supplement its portfolio with further international connections outside Germany and night train connections, as well as to serve customer needs as broadly as possible, DB uses the booking solution of an external provider for ticket sales for connections of railway companies that are not part of DB Group in selected sales channels.
A follow-up solution that is largely internalized by DB is now being developed for this booking solution. As an external component of this follow-up solution, the provision and operation of an interface (hereinafter referred to as "MC-API") for the following services is to be commissioned: price collection, booking, ticket delivery, rebooking and cancellation. The provision of the mentioned services and the entire communication between MC-API and the decreasing system of DB must be carried out on an ongoing basis according to current specifications of the OSDM standard.
