Description:
FGV emergency measure NO-NW embankment RL Greifenhain

With this construction project, safety measures are being carried out to eliminate mining-related hazards on tilted embankments of the former Greifenhain opencast mine

- Weight compression approx. 1,595.0 Tm3

- Mass movements using mobile earthworks technology approx. 460.0 Tm3

- max. transport distances for mass transports up to approx. 5,500 m

- continuous mass installation in deep terrain using several long front excavators

- Construction of a paved transport route of approx. 1,455 m

- Execution of field and laboratory tests during construction

The tipping slopes of the former Tgb. Greifenhain are at risk of settling flow as a result of water build-up and must therefore be secured by dynamic stabilization measures. The aim of the measure is to eliminate the existing mining-related hazards in the dump area and thus to permanently establish geotechnical and public safety. When the drop weight compression (FGV) is carried out, the surface compaction of previously vibrated embankment sections takes place in working areas on the border-water level dependent on the residual hole side. Several lanes are processed and a total of approximately 1,595.0 Tm3 are compressed in the process. In preparation for construction, a fortified transport line of approx. 1,455 m is to be produced, whose fastening ends with surface stabilization by means of vibrating rollers. In addition, areas must be cleaned up (timbering/grubbing), some of which will take place during construction. The service includes field and laboratory tests during construction, market-like layouts and the continuous maintenance of paths and access roads. For the advertised service, the use of an embankment observer is required for the entire duration of the measure at the remaining hole.

An essential part of the measure is pre-profiling on the working levels of the FGV. The masses (approx. 460.0 Tm3) are removed, loaded onto mobile earthworks and transported to the installation site at the northern foot of the dump. The maximum transport distance is approximately 5,500 m. The installation location is considered a particularly liquefied area. In order to speed up mass installation, the use of several long front excavators in combination with wheel loaders is envisaged, among other things. Due to the fact that the measure is dependent on the constantly rising water in the Greifenhain residual hole, the specified performance period must be adhered to and the required technical use must be adequately dimensioned accordingly.
