Description:
FAIR Missing NC Dipole magnets to complete the high-energy beam transport from GSI to Super FRS and CBM

We plan to purchase five normal conducting dipole magnets to complete certain parts of the high-energy beam transport beamline.

The scope of delivery are the magnets themselves with connection boxes, alignment feet and stands as well as spare parts. Furthermore, design work, magnetic and mechanical measurements are part of the order. The Company provides magnetic and essential mechanical design parameters as well as finalized 3D models and production drawings for most magnets with few exceptions.

The magnets range in weight from up to 23 tons for the heaviest dipole. All magnets will be ramped in not more than 500ms and therefore need laminated yokes. Due to the potentially high radiation levels, coil potting with polyimide or cyanate ester should be the material of choice.

The magnets will be equipped with interfaces for electricity, water, alignment, and transport by crane, fork lift, pallet jacks and air cushion. Measures for operational safety, such as thermoswitches, are to be provided. CE compliance is mandatory.

Design, production and delivery of all magnets (magnet, alignment unit, connection box and stand):

1 unit dipol 17_0

4 units dipole 19_0

1 unit stand for dipole 16_0

spare parts: 3 units alignment feet

spare parts: 1 set of coils for dipole 15_1

spare parts: 1 set of coils for dipole 16_0

spare parts: 1 set of coils for dipole 17_0

spare parts: 1 set of coils for dipole 19_0
