The large district town of Überlingen plans to rehabilitate the Capuchin church in Überlingen, which was built in 1658.

As part of a former monastery complex, the building is listed as a listed building and is intended to serve as a cultural and event location for year-round operations in the future (meeting site with up to 400 people).

Total costs (Kgr. 200-700, DIN 276) are currently assumed to be approximately €3.5 million gross.

The following milestones are planned:

Start of performance: early/mid January 2022,

Completion: end of April 2024.

It is intended to commission the following services (in stages) with this tender:

Project planning for buildings and interiors, service phases 1 to 9 according to §§ 33 ff. HOAI.

The Capuchin Church dates back to 1658 and is a cultural monument of special quality.

In 1808, the monastery was dissolved and the church was taken for secular use. As a result, the building was first used as a restaurant and bathing establishment, and then for many years mainly as a house house, storage room, workshop and temporarily as a magazine.

In 1910/11, the former church was converted into a theatre and concert hall and was demoted back into a camp in the course of the 20th century.

Since partial repairs in 2002/2003, the Capuchin Church has been a venue for events and was a venue for the summer theatre from 2003 to 2017. Historically valuable, listed plaster layers are present in the church and choir rooms in particular.

On December 11, 2017, an immediate ban on use of the Capuchin church was issued due to the deterioration of the roof truss. Technical securing of the roof truss was made in 2019.

For 2020, the exhibition area “Flower Hall” was planned to go into operation as part of the State Garden Show Überlingen in the Capuchin Church. Due to the corona pandemic

this usage has been postponed.

The building floor area is approximately 450 m², whereby a main usable area of approx. 430 m² plus attic space can be added.

The Capuchin Church was previously operated as a public institution owned by the city of Überlingen and served cultural and social life in the city.

For this purpose, the facility was also provided for rent to third parties.

After the renovation, the Capuchin Church is intended to serve as a cultural and event location in year-round operation (meeting place with up to 400 people).

Total costs (Kgr. 200-700, DIN 276) are currently assumed to be approximately €3.5 million gross.

The following milestones are planned:

Start of performance: early/mid January 2022,

Completion: end of April 2024.

For the renovation of the Capuchin Church Überlingen, the services of object planning buildings and interiors are to be awarded in accordance with §§ 33 et seq. HOAI.

The services are commissioned in stages. First of all, the performance phases 1 and 2 (baseline assessment and preliminary planning) are commissioned in accordance with Section 34 of the Court of Procedure 1. The service phases 3 to 9 are called up in the further stages of the assignment. There is no legal entitlement to an overall assignment.
