: Collection of textiles via textile containers at sites and recycling park in 1500 Halle

Explanation: Collection, processing and repurposing of textiles within the territory of the city of Halle.

The collected textiles must be reused (locally) as much as possible.

If reuse is not possible, the textiles must be processed into new raw materials and/or energy according to the best available technology. Collection shall be carried out using the following collection methods:-

- Collection via textile containers at certain locations on the public domain at 23 different locations on the public domain, which can be consulted via https://www.halle.be/textielcontainers

- Collection via textile containers at the recycling park

This is ideally done at a level that has an impact on the contracting authority and the territory because:

- logistics is the least burdensome option, both in terms of CO2 emissions for transport and impact on traffic jams;

- provides maximum transparency in the final processing (including repurposing) of textiles.

Halle attaches importance to the fact that the collection and processing contributes in a positive way to the commitments in the context of achieving the SDGs as well as the covenant of mayors, as well as the objectives set by OVAM regarding waste prevention and reuse.

The contractor has the right to dispose of the collected textiles. The contractor is responsible for the collection and disposal of the textile, including for the non-reused and/or non-recycled part.

The probable quantities via the combination of textile containers pitches and recycling park on an annual basis: 350,000 kg on an annual basis.

The above estimate is certainly not a guarantee of a certain number of kg but is only given as an indication.
