The acquisition is the work of the construction contract of the new upper secondary school and library in Sotkamo and the duties of the main contractor in accordance with the calculation documents. In addition, the construction contract includes the demolition of the A wing of the upper secondary school building, which currently exists in the construction area, as well as the civil engineering of the complementary structures of the remaining upper secondary school building in accordance with the calculation documents.

The construction project consists of the new construction of the new part of Sotkamo Upper Secondary School and the library, which is built by the municipality of Sotkamo. The construction project is located in the center of Sotkamo at Akkoniementie 25, 88600 Sotkamo.

This is a 3.-storey new building, the frame of which is mainly concrete and the facades are sheet cladded. The building will house the upper secondary school's teaching and administrative facilities, library facilities and the necessary auxiliary facilities. The size of the building is approx. 4830 m2. In connection with the construction contract, the old high school wing building will be demolished under the new building, and the new building will be located next to the remaining high school building. A gateway will be built between the buildings. The remaining upper secondary school building will be fully operational during the project.

The demolition of the wing building of the current school, which is used in the construction area, will begin in May 2023, after which the construction of the actual new building can begin.
