The city of Schwedt/Oder is planning the expansion of the street Handelsstraße, Bäckerstraße and Steinstraße in the "Handelssstraße" industrial park. These roads are dedicated as collection roads and direct traffic to Bundesstraße 166. They are also part of the city's bus network. The roadways, most of which are covered with a concrete surface, show considerable damage in the form of unevenness, fractures, potholes, patches, cracks and deformations. The footpaths/cycle paths are also worn out and need to be renewed. The rainwater drainage systems are mostly located on private land and must be relocated to the roadway area. The processing limits are shown in Appendix 2. The total length of the road is about 2.1 km, the lanes are usually 6 m wide. The arrangement and widths of footpaths and cycle paths vary within the street.
Due to the cramped conditions on the urban plots, planting is not possible. It is partly available and maintained in a peripheral location on the private properties.

Municipal area: Schwedt/Oder

The street Handelsstraße, Bäckerstraße and Steinstraße with a section of the Dammweg and the Kaufweg represents the main axis of the industrial area, is feeder to Werner-Seelenbinder-Straße as part of the federal highway 166 and also occupied by bus traffic next to heavy traffic. The roadways as well as the footpaths and cycle paths are to be built in a thorough development.
The road widths must be maintained. The widths and arrangement of the ancillary facilities must be checked and safe crossing possibilities planned. The aim is, among other things, to be able to offer a continuous cycle path on at least one side of the road. The roadways are to be given an asphalt structure. Preferably, this should also be checked for the cycle paths. The pavements and combined cycle/sidewalks will continue to be made of concrete pavement. The design of the junctions is to be tested according to the relevant design vehicles and the consideration of an optimal crossing for cyclists and pedestrians. Traffic safety at the Y-shaped junction of the trade route with the access roads to the Oder-Center and the ZOB must be improved. A roundabout solution would be conceivable here. The location of the existing bus stops must be checked in compliance with the current requirements, the waiting areas adapted and the equipment coordinated with the Uckermärkische Verkehrsgesellschaft.
Rain drainage:
There is a closed drainage system, mostly located on private land (see Appendix 3), which must be replanned in accordance with the legal requirements and in terms of scope. The postures running parallel to the carriageway shall be shifted into the carriageway. The parallel positions running in the 4-lane section of the trade route are to be relocated to the area of the central island with connection to infiltration-capable trenches. Basically, the dimensions, the materials and the possibilities of infiltration must be examined.
Street lighting:
The street lighting has already been renewed. Here, only a backup of the systems is required.
