The assignment comprises engineering design and construction of 3 officer barracks, each with 36 x small living quarters. The buildings will each be erected with 3 floors and middle corridor, in addition to a loft. Technical room for ventilation and sheds for the residents will be placed in the loft, while technical room for HVAC and electrical will be located on floor 1. The 3 buildings are identical with the officer barracks in Phase one that are under construction. Total of approx. 4 700 square metres GFA, including sheds.

In addition, a carport facility will be erected on 2 levels, with 36 parking spaces with roof superstructure on each level, altogether approx. 1 700 square metres. Construction of 2 free-standing joint sheds for storing of car tyres and bicycles are also included in the assignment.

The barracks building shall be constructed at Rustamessa in Bardufoss. The area is zoned for use by the The Norwegian Armed Forces. The adjoining area facing east is the Bardufoss camp area, and facing north is the operative area. The buildings will be established outside the camp fence.

Simple and rational construction methods will be facilitated. Robust materials are chosen, in accordance with the Norwegian Defence Estates Agency's experience and in agreement with the area's location and distinctive character. Prefabrication is facilitated. The officer barracks shall be constructed as a passive house, in accordance with NS (Norwegian Standard) 3700.
