Statens Strålevern (the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority), hereafter NRPA is awarding authority for this procurement of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

1. The NRPA laboratories shall procure a joint and well-functioning LIMS solution to handle all relevant issues regarding test registration, preparation and measurements. Exchange of samples, sample data and results will take place between laboratories.

2. The LIMS solution must include all test data and test results that are produced and checked in at the NRPA laboratories. The total quantity of samples for all three laboratories are an estimated 2 000-3 000 samples per year. In an emergency situation this may increase significantly to an estimated 50 000 samples per year.

3. A new LIMS solution shall help ensure that the number of errors and omissions that may occur in connection with registration of test parameters are reduced significantly.

4. A new LIMS solution shall help ensure that the procedures surrounding sample flow (including assignment agreements and measurement reports) are simplified considerably and that most reports will be available electronically (not on paper).

5. A new LIMS solution shall satisfy the requirements for accredited tests according to relevant standards, including ISO 17025:2005.
